As we say goodbye to 2019 and hello to 2020 the time has come to make our resolutions for the new year. At Banister’s Upholstery, Inc., we think that should include showing your vehicle’s upholstery a little love. Vehicle upholstery is often overlooked, but can greatly impact the look of your car. These are some resolutions we think you should add to your list.
No More Food or Drink
In these busy times, we are all guilty of grabbing a quick bite to eat or a cup of coffee to consume in the car. But spills happen. And sometimes food bags are forgotten in the backseat leading to stains and messed up upholstery. This year, make the resolution not to eat or drink in your car. Even on those busy nights when you are carpooling kids to activities or the days when you are racing from meeting to meeting.
Keep Your Car Clean
We see it all the time. When you spend a good amount of your life driving it is only natural that items and junk will accumulate in the seats and floorboards. Each time you get out of your car, grab everything that you put in it that day. It is also a good idea to clean it out once a week.
Our favorite time to clean out the car is Sunday evening. That way when Monday morning rolls around you are ready for the week and will be inspired to keep it clean all week long.
Show Your Upholstery a Little Love
People often overlook their car’s upholstery when they are cleaning out their vehicles. Vacuuming and spot cleaning are a great way to keep your car looking nice all year round. If you don’t have access to a vacuum with a long hose or a portable dust buster, most car washes and some gas stations have industrial strength vacuums on-site so that you can it in all the crevices.
For spot cleaning, do some research on your individual car’s upholstery and the best products to clean it with. Anytime you spill something or clean out your car, give your seats and carpet a once over.
The team at Banister’s Upholstery, Inc. in East Point, GA, wants to wish you and your loved ones happiness and prosperity in the coming year. If 2020, includes reupholstering your vehicle, don’t forget to give us a call. Our experts are here for all your upholstery needs.
